As an expert in logistic systems and their application in business processes, Prof.dr.ir. H. Van Landeghem wil welcome Mr. Masaaki Imai, renown as the original ‘Lean Guru’ and pioneer of the global improvement methodology, to the first “Lean Leadership” Conference in Belgium.
The Lean Leadership 2008 Conference features speakers from automotive, assembly and chemical industry. They will speak on the importance of effective leadership, present case studies of highly successful global and local lean implementations. They will explain how to achieve and sustain significant improvements in productivity.
Finally the Kaizen Institute will present the concept of ‘forklift- free-factory’.
While Lean is derived from the Toyota Production System and recognized as the main reason for Toyota’s continued success globally over the past 50 years, it has been widely adopted across both the manufacturing and service industries to improve productivity and realize sustainable efficiencies.
Lean and Kaizen/Continuous Improvement principles are applicable to all industries and functions, not just manufacturing and the shop floor. Top management must lead and support their people in the right directions and assure that their actions are linked to strategic performance.
